Because of the bad weather, the rescure working was delayed in the past two days. Today they finally arrived the most seriously affected Mentawai Islands. The rescue working was very tense, and many injured people have been rescued and send out of the dangerous places. Among those survivors, one family was rescued by a sort of light, which was called the light of life in disaster.

The family lived in a small house surrounded by few big White birches near coast at the foot of the mountain. They were all sleeping, when the earthquake occurred. The small house couldnÂ’t afford the strong shake and the heavy wind, it collapsed. After they awaked, they have been buried in the house at that night. Fortunately the pillar was strong enough to afford the weight of the house, so the four members of the family were live. Outside it was dark and rainy, So the father gathered the whole shaking fearful family together in the bathroom and spend the whole night.

But the Next day, the more dangerous disaster was coming. The Tsunami was caused by the earthquake, the huge wave over 10 meters crashed towards the coast. Thus many houses have been drawn into the sea. Their house was heavily damaged again; they can just hold each other in the little room. Angry and fear hunted them. The father is the host of the family, also was the mental support of them. He strongly encourages everybody to hold on and insist the government would come to rescue them. So they shouted as loudly as they can. But two days past, they didnÂ’t hear anybody except the wind and the rain.

At this time, they were hungry, cold, tired and exhausted; the two children were too tired to stop sleeping. The mother tried her best to pat the back of her son with weak songs. Father was staring at the dark roof, and noticing the slightest sound, and knocked the wall to get help. They donÂ’t knew how long time later. They felt something on the house was moved, it was more and more noisy. The father lists his hand and try his best to hit the wall, but just got the slightest sound. Mother opened her mouse shouted, but just can heard little breath. In the darkness, the whole family was panic, anxious but helpful. At this hurry moment, the little boy caught his pocket, and a beam green bright light irradiated. This light just like the hope shined in everyoneÂ’s heart. Then according to the beam o f green light, the rescuer discovered them, and save them.

In the hospital, they found the thing which save their life was their sonÂ’s toy. After the thing was reported by the media, which caused the great massive Fanaticism for the laser pointer among both children and adults. As they thought it was God arrange it to lead the rescuer to save them. And it would be lucky, if the children play with it. The official also reported, it would help the rescuer to find the victims. YouÂ’ll also notice that even though they may not be looking into the sun, or facing away from it, you still get very bright portions on your subject while other areas are in shadow. This is why those premium, or golden hours of the day are so important.

At midday due to the highness of the sun, your shadows almost completely disappear, which in effect flattens the landscape for photography. This makes for uninteresting images. Sunrise and sunset provide you with the right combination of light and shadow, a great photo-op, and more dramatic color in the sky.

Alright so you use the sun at the golden hours of the day. That doesnÂ’t mean that you need the sun. You can still produce great images on cloudy or overcast days. The clouds actually diffuse the suns light, illuminating the subject with natural light while ridding the scenery of harsh shadows. A flash may be recommended if you find that your pictures appear flat. You might want to consider shooting in black and white also. Black and white is an excellent choice for overcast days because of the dramatic images you can get while the colors are normally washed out anyway.

DonÂ’t let the rain scare you either. You can still get some great pictures because it adds an interesting element to the scene. ItÂ’s highly important however to protect your cameras and other optical equipment. Many photographers actually use a sandwich bag over their camera while they are shooting in order to keep it dry and protected. Why not bring a friend along to hold an umbrella or hold your bags of gear off the wet ground? Keep a positive attitude and use the rain to get stunning effects and produce some unexpected great shots
